I am a Senior Research Scientist with the Algorithms & Data Mining group at Yahoo!. I joined Yahoo! Research after obtaining a Ph.D. from University of Texas at Austin in 2007. My research primarily focuses on statistical learning and data mining, often applied in the context of large scale information retrieval systems. At Yahoo! I work on developing new features for the web search engine and learning from users' interaction with it. Recently, I have also been involved in applying learning based approaches to various problems in the areas of computational advertising, and prevention of abuse of various types (mail and comment spam).
